About the company

Sensus Aero develops software for the aviation industry. Sensus MRO is its ERP solution for aviation base and line maintenance (MRO) organisations.

My role

As Senior Business Analyst in the Sensus MRO team, I assessed planned changes and their impact together with the product owner, then wrote the detailed requirements covering the domain model, the functionality and the user interface. I supported developers and QA throughout implementation and testing.

I was responsible for the inventory module, where aviation regulations require full back-to-birth traceability of every part, from manufacture and release certification through installation, removal and repair to scrapping, including the tracking of life-limited and time-controlled parts by flight hours, flight cycles and calendar time.

Wireframes were a large part of the specification. Most of the system was covered by them, drawn in WireframeSketcher and version-controlled in a shared Git repository that the whole team worked from.

The requirements templates and the structure of the domain model were my proposal; the company adopted them and the analyst team refined them from there.
